JONAS

‘In this film, I wanted to follow a character through his whole life: someone we see grow from a child bubbling with enthusiasm to an adult who has a clear idea of who he is and what he wants to achieve. We can’t all follow our dreams, but Jonas gives up everything and everyone to do exactly that. Even though he suffers setback after setback, it doesn’t stop him trying. Every time one of his inventions goes wrong, whether it’s the fishbowl he puts on his head as a boy, or the rocket pack that brings him so close to becoming part of the sea that he gets caught and served just like a fish, Jonas learns from it and moves on. It’s only at the end that he realizes that it’s all the baggage that he’s accumulated over the course of his life that holds the key to realizing his dream.’
